Grace Wine Tasting Party

We will be holding a Wine Tasting Party with Japanese celebrity wine maker AYANA MISAWA from GRACE WINE, Yamanashi in Japan.
Grace winery  was established in 1923, it is one of the first family-owned wineries in Katsunuma in Yamanashi prefecture. It is the birth place and wine hub of the Japanese wine industry today.
Grace winery has started introducing "Dry Style Wine" with KOSHU grapes, previously the majority of people weren't consuming much wine and there was only sweet style wine available in Japan. The KOSHU grape was known as a very difficult grape to make good quality wine with. However this family wanted to make it with KOSHU grapes and have been trying it over the generations since Ayana's grand father.  Ayana is the third generation wine maker in the family, her father Shigekazu Misawa wished to sell Japanese wine in the world market.
To make his dream come true, she graduated from Bordeaux wine university then travelled through many wine regions and countries that included Australia to learn different wine making techniques.
In 2014, Ayana won the gold medal in Decanter World Wine Awards, it was the first time winning a gold medal in Japanese wine history.
Now, Grace wine has become one of the most well renowned wineries around the world.

This event is a great opportunity to introduce you to the pleasure of a Grace Wine, and also to experience what Koshu grapes taste like if you have never tried them before.

It will be a cocktail party, not be a proper sit down style dinner. We will serve 3-4 food and 5-6 varieties of wine.
